Rabbai
Ibe Olisaemeka Henry, known as Rabbai, is a Nigerian Afro-fusion artiste who makes music from a place of curiosity, feeling and observation. His sound carries feel-good energy, layered vocals and introspective songwriting, drawing from Afrobeats and contemporary sounds without being confined by either.
For Rabbai, music is a way of getting closer to life. His sensitivity to people, culture, spirituality and human connection makes him attentive to the things we often experience but struggle to put into words, the questions we carry, the beliefs we inherit, the ways we change, and the moments that quietly shape who we become. These experiences give his music its depth, while his melodies keep it warm and inviting.
His relationship with music began at King's College, Lagos, where freestyling and an almost constant appetite for music first pulled him toward becoming an artiste. His time at the University of Enugu expanded that relationship, exposing him to experiences and perspectives that continued to shape the person and artist he was becoming.
Rabbai's sound lives in the space between movement and reflection. His use of harmonies, layered vocals and varied influences allows each song to carry its own atmosphere - sometimes something you simply feel, sometimes something that stays with you long after the song ends.
